Is There A Federal Or State EV Tax Credit For New & Used Cars?

The federal EV tax credits expired on September 30, 2025, and there are no statewide tax incentives in Nebraska. Additionally, EV owners in Nebraska must pay an annual Alternative Fuel Vehicle (AFV) registration fee of $150 for most electric/hydrogen vehicles and $75 for PHEVs.

Is There A Nebraska EV Tax Credit For Home Charging Stations?

While there are no federal or state EV tax credits, there are charging station incentives worth pursuing. Before installing an electric vehicle charger at home, check with your local power company; they may offer rebates if they participate in the EnergyWise program. Also, property owners who install eligible refueling equipment should consider the Alternative Fuel Vehicle Refueling Property Credit. This federal tax credit of up to $1,000 is designed to help offset the expense of installing an EV charger. But act fast—the credit expires on June 30, 2026.

What Is The Big Beautiful Bill Car Loan Interest Deduction?
