Tips For Inexpensive Fall Travel Part 3
We have been sharing with you a few tips on how to save on your fall travel excursions over our last few blogs. These tips came from a list of suggestions that were released by Forbes in order to help you find ways to enjoy the season without breaking your budget. Check out the remainder of our suggestions below!
11.) Visit A National Park – There are 411 different national parks spread out throughout the U.S. and only 127 of those parks charge visitors for entering. Therefore, look for a park near you and enjoy a fun day of exploration at a landmark for free. However, if you do want to visit one of the 127 parks that have an entrance fee then we suggest that you visit them on November 11 when the National Parks will be offering free admission all day long!
12) Don’t Be Afraid of Last Minute Plans – If you are willing to be flexible about your travel schedule then you can take advantage of the Priceline app which offers “Tonight-Only” deals. These deals are available beginning at 11:00 am daily and they offer savings of up to 60 percent on same-day travel.
13.) Go Camping – Camping is a fun and inexpensive way to get away for a few days and enjoy the outdoors before winter arrives. There are 490 Kampgrounds of America (KOA) sites throughout the U.S. and Canada and prices are significantly less expensive than your average nightly hotel room rate. Most tent sites average about $20 – $55 per night and rustic cabins are generally about $35 – $90 per night.
14.) Explore a Corn Maze – Corn mazes are a fun option that the entire family can enjoy. They are a good way to get out and get some exercise while having fun as well. Plus, many locations will have a fun design for their maze this time of year. So check out any local mazes around your area and start exploring!
15.) Find Quirky Attractions – We know that visiting the world’s largest ball of yarn probably sounds pretty lame but you would be surprised at just how much fun visiting these types of quirky attractions can be. If nothing else, it gives you a great story to retell later on and gets you out of the house for the day. If you visit the website Roadside America for a list of some of the quirky attractions around you!
