Tech-Forward Cabin
The standard 11.3 in center screen runs Google Maps, Google Assistant, and the Play Store without needing a phone. A matching 11 in cluster sits behind the steering wheel, and RS and Activ can add a head up display. Chevy moved the shifter to the column, freeing space for a flat floor console with huge cup holders and extra storage.
Smoother, Quicker Power Delivery
A 175 hp 1.5 L turbo is still under the hood, but it now pairs with a CVT in FWD models and a new 8 speed automatic in AWD versions. The combo drops 0–60 mph into the high 8 second range and lifts FWD highway fuel economy to about 31 mpg. AWD RS and Activ gain drive mode selectors so you can swap between Normal, Sport, Snow/Ice, or Off Road on the fly.
Everyday Versatility
The cabin holds 29.8 cu ft of cargo behind the rear seats or 63.5 cu ft with them folded. Wide opening rear doors and a hands free liftgate (RS, Activ) simplify loading child seats and gear. When equipped with the trailering package the Equinox can tow about 1,500 lb, enough for small toys like jet skis or a pop up camper.
